Garth Turner

Turner
In the wake of Garth Turner's expulsion from the federal Tory caucus, probably the most interesting thing I've heard is speculation that he's going Green. It makes a lot of sense, for the reasons David Akin outlines, which is probably why it won't happen.

Personally, I don't think Turner wanted all this to happen. I don't think he wanted to run in the next election as anything but a Conservative. So, it'll be interesting to see what Mr. Turner has to say today at 5 pm — probably the most anticipated news conference we've had in politics for a while. Pass the popcorn.

UPDATE (2:46 pm): By the way, if he does go Green, my bet is that it won't happen today — if it ever does.

UPDATE (2:51 pm): Let's also not forget that Turner was against Emerson crossing the floor without a by-election.

UPDATE (3:16 pm): If Turner decides to go on the attack, what would I suggest the Conservatives do in defence? "Garth Turner is not a team player." Say it over again: "Garth Turner is not a team player." Again....
