Second Thots

Sometimes one has to step back, take pause, and have some "second thots"

Dion prefers power to principle

Dion
Get a load of what Stephane Dion's position is on holding Canadian/French dual citizenship:

Liberal leader Stephane Dion said being forced to renounce his French citizenship -- which he intends to do if it hurts the Grits' chances of regaining power -- would be a step backward for Canada, since it would indicate the country had become "uncertain" about its identity.
In other words, Dion believes that the principled thing to do would be to keep his French citizenship, but he's more than willing to give it up if it means he can win power.

So much for party renewal. Then again, I don't think past Liberal leaders would be nearly as open about their ambitions as Dion is, so maybe there is change in the air. I just don't know if it's the kind of change Canadians were expecting — or want.
