Pyrrhic victories have become a Liberal speciality
If you recall, the Liberals were masters at celebrating Pyrrhic victories under the leadership of Paul Martin. Squeaking out a minority election victory, buying off an opposition MP, and allowing an opposition party to write a budget were all celebrated as though Liberals were to rule for the next century and beyond.
Fast forward to the Dion era.
I see that some Liberals and lefties are absolutely gleeful as a result of the vote to pass the Liberal bill to implement Kyoto.
As with so much coming from Liberals and the left these days, it's not about substance. Forgive the pun, but it really is a whole lot of hot air.
The bill is a joke. The Liberals will never meet Kyoto targets if they somehow win back power. The Liberals never did anything to meet Kyoto targets for the ten years that they had a shot at it.
That some would consider the vote on this bill as some kind of victory is just an example of how out of touch they are with reality. Enjoy it while it lasts. That wall you're about it hit is gonna hurt.
