Where is the Liberal upside with Turner?
Folks, I don't know if this is going to look good on Liberals at all. Apparently, Turner will not resign his seat. The media is already starting to latch onto this. And the Liberals do not take away the balance of power from the NDP with this move, since Turner was already counted as a potential vote against the government when he was an independent. This will make Dion look cynical. It will only prove that I've been right about Turner's hypocrisy all along. No one will believe what he says about his motivations for doing this. Quite honestly, I'm still trying to figure out what the Liberals gain from this.
Could this be Dion's first big mistake as Liberal leader? Stay tuned. I know I want to hear how the both of them explain this one.

I've been trying to figure that out for about 18 hours now. The only advantage was that Garth temporarily upstaged PMSH's new priorities speech.
Hell, that didn't even work, on CTV last night Harper got top-bill, Garth was second.
Garth as Ind. had the potential to split the right of centre vote, Garth as Liberal solidifies the 'Garth is a wing-nut' vote.
Because it puts Haulton back in play, that means the Libs will have to spend money on it or risk losing it. Previously because of the split vote, they wouldn't have had to spend as much. Now they have to have Dion show up, all that crap.
As Robert Fife said last night on the News, "Dion will have problems with Turner." When Robertson, and Fife are making fun of Turner, you know there is no upside.
I just don't get it. Maybe someone does, but it isn't me. The advantages to Garth are obvious.
Want to know what I think? I think Turner played Dion.
