Second Thots

Sometimes one has to step back, take pause, and have some "second thots"

Matt Damon, Political Genius

In the latest example of Hollywood buffoonery, Matt Damon adds his unique perspective to the US election.

``I would pay $1 million to have Kerry in the White House,'' the actor said at the premiere of ``The Bourne Supremacy'' in Berlin the other night.

It's as though these people were programmed to make vacuous and inane statements when someone pulls that chord sticking out of their back.

Having a political opinion is one thing. Displaying some evidence of grey matter when voicing it is quite another.

Couldn't you imagine Saddam saying a thing like that? Fidel Castro? Or anyone who thinks attaining desired political objectives is like going shopping for your next 1000 pairs of shoes?

Just how are you supposed to respect an opinion of someone who seems to equate support for a presidential candidate with buying a beachside cottage away from someone at the right price?
