This is what Jacques Corriveau said in response to the revelation he told a Globe and Mail reporter in 2002 he had no role in promoting national unity in Quebec.
For the record, doing work as part of the sponsorship program was supposed to have been for the purpose of promoting national unity in Quebec.
In hindsight, maybe Corriveau was right. He was doing a lot of things. National unity doesn't seem to be one of them.
