Sunni clerics urge Iraqis to join security forces

A bit of a mixed message. Sunni clerics are calling for their people to join the security forces, but "refrain from helping foreign troops against their own countrymen."
Don't know exactly how that works, but the announcement should probably be considered a bold step forward for the new Iraq.
Previously, Sunni clerics didn't want anything to do with the new regime or its elections. I think it's safe to say they have had somewhat of a change of heart. I suppose only time and events will tell, of course.
From my standpoint, the frequency and size of major attacks by insurgents have decreased since the period of elections. They went from being a daily occurrence to sometimes not even a weekly occurrence.
So this announcement by the clerics seems to follow that apparent trend against the insurgency. Is Zarqawi becoming increasingly isolated from the cause he claims to champion? I'm sure another angry tape is in the making.
