Second Thots

Sometimes one has to step back, take pause, and have some "second thots"

The election is cancelled. Or is it?

DOUBLE TAKE
In case anyone hasn't noticed yet, at the same time the Conservatives were defeated in their attempt to topple the Liberal government, they have unveiled a new website design with, as ironic as it now seems, a new campaign slogan: Stand up for Change, Stand up for Canada.

I have no idea what this means.

Conventional wisdom has Harper standing down after today's historic defeat in the House of Commons. So this new website and slogan may be the output of some pre-campaign machinery and spending which just can't go to waste.

Or this may be the start of an extended eight month campaign Martin unleashed on us during his emergency infomercial a few weeks back.

But there are a number of opposition days awaiting Parliament in the weeks to come. Chuck Cadman is on record stating he'll take each one as they come along without any predetermined decisions. Some of the most damaging Gomery testimony is due shortly. And we've seen how things can change overnight during this crazy season on the Hill.

Interesting.
