Layton won't shut down private clinics. What?

Up until now, I'm sure most Canadians thought Jack Layton wanted to stop private health care in its tracks. Well, not according to him. He won't do a thing to shut down private health care clinics in Canada.

At the very least this will confuse people. At the very most, Jack Layton just sunk his image as the protector of Canada's so-called public health care system.

What is he thinking?
