Sensationalistic journalism on Afghanistan again?

MEDIA WATCH

I have come across numerous news reports suggesting the vote on the Afghanistan mission tonight in Parliament might go against the Conservative government. Yet nowhere in these same reports is there even one explanation of how an overwhelming number of Liberal MPs will somehow vote against the mission they started -- which is what would have to happen for the government to lose this vote.

Is their distaste for this military mission causing the media to salivate over even the slightest prospect of the mission extension being voted down in the House tonight? We'll see.

UPDATE (Thur. May 18, 12:15 pm): For the record, the vote ended up being close. So, the reporting wasn't as sensationalistic as I had guessed -- maybe just a bit short on explanation. That's all.
