People should be taking a closer look at what's going on with the environment file in Ottawa. Any agreement between the Tories and the NDP will essentially leave both the Greens and the Liberals out in the cold on one of the hot-button issues of the day.
A political observer should be asking themselves why the Tories decided to come out with such a weak bill from the start. The events that are now unfolding should be forming a part of that answer.
As much as critics will inevitably accuse Harper and Layton of some sort of collusion, hard to see how any of that matters if an environmental bill with some teeth is the result of all of this.
