Liberal party renewal?
Putting aside the surprising first ballot results for a moment, one thing that's jumped out at me during the Liberal convention is use of the term "party renewal". It's supposed to be used to address some of the obvious problems with the party in recent years. Yet, what exactly does it mean? Does saying "party renewal" a thousand times during a weekend actually mean anything? Does it mean that the party has addressed some of the serious problems of ethics and arrogance that led to their ouster almost a year ago?
One word that no Liberal dare mention is "sponsorship". That might say more about "party renewal" than anything else.
