Stéphane Dion decides to wear Adscam
Why in the world would Stéphane Dion start apologizing for Liberals implicated in the Adscam scandal?
I can think of a few reasons:
a) Dion is still too weak a leader and is incapable of exercising his own will over forces within his own party.
b) His own party is beyond any hope of a quick fix any time soon.
c) Dion is incredibly tone deaf and lacks any semblance of judgement as a political leader.
Read this excerpt about one of the men Dion seems bound to bring back into the fold:
During the Gomery inquiry into the scandal, Mr. Côté testified that he received $120,000 in $100 bills from the executive director of the party's Quebec wing. He distributed that money to 12 Liberal candidates in the 1997 federal election.Stéphane Dion just handed Stephen Harper a priceless gift. He is attaching himself to the corruption and scandals of the past. I hope I don't come across too harsh when I ask this, but really, how dumb do you have to be?
