Human Rights vs. Free Speech?
I don't know how we got to the point where human rights and free speech are pitted against one another. I thought free speech was one of the most important human rights of them all.
Interesting to see that Pat Buchanan has gotten in on the debate over human rights commissions in Canada. A few American conservatives have done so, if I'm not mistaken. It's also interesting to see how liberals, both here and south of the border, don't appear to be on the side of free speech on this one.
Now, before some are tempted to dismiss Buchanan as a far right-wing nut, I've heard no shortage of applause from the left regarding his position on Iraq. Cheers.
