Second Thots

Sometimes one has to step back, take pause, and have some "second thots"

Yes, the Tories can be juvenile

I've already noted that I think Dion and Liberals should be the last to complain about juvenile tactics from anyone else. However, that still doesn't excuse the Conservatives from the accusation. And perhaps a perfect example can be found on the home page of their carbon plan attack site.

There's an oil blot beside Dion's face. If you mouse over it, a video starts rolling in which Dion simply says, "Very seriously a carbon tax."

Very seriously a carbon tax? I don't get it. It's not in context. It has no meaning. Are they trying to ridicule Dion's accent? Beats me.

I actually think that one of the reasons that the Tories engage in these tactics is to anger Dion and Liberals. The more they see Harper doing these kinds of things while in power, the more outraged they get for not having power.

But, if you're going to do it, can you be a bit smarter and more creative? Or does it really matter when you're acting like a kid anyhow?

Comments:
In the press conference that Dion was giving, someone asked him how seriously he was considering a carbon tax, to which he replied, "Very seriously. A carbon tax with real targets, bla bla bla"
It only sounds so weird due to his accent.
