From the "So much for conventional wisdom" file
The Toronto Blue Jays are currently six games above .500 and in contention in baseball's toughest division: The American League East. Everybody saw that coming, right?
To be fair, I do recall one person who wasn't as predictably gloomy about the Jays' prospects this year as everyone else was.
And, to be fair yet again, I have no idea if the team has what it takes to keep it up. So, in the end, conventional wisdom may yet prevail.
