Maybe not so equal marriage?
I was reading this fascinating article on the predictors of modern day divorce. Nothing really jumped out at me, since I guess we've all become too accustomed to the phenomenon in today's society, until I got to the last item:
15. If you're in a male same-sex marriage, it's 50 percent more likely to end in divorce than a heterosexual marriage. If you're in a female same-sex marriage, this figure soars to 167 percent.
Wasn't gay marriage supposed to make the institution of marriage stronger, and weren't those who suggested otherwise dismissed as intolerant and homophobic? Just some food for thought.
